Running races & sea green spaces

What an absolute fantastic time Chef Andy did in the Brighton Marathon 2013, a PB of 3.56 raising over £800 for Against Breast Cancer . On top of the £250 plus raised for the Sussex Beacon back in February for the half marathon we don’t think that is bad! Goodness knows what will have to do to raise over a grand for charity next year, any ideas?

We were proud to host a family gathering for Gav & Darren, long time friends of The Manor, after their fantastic run in the marathon – they seemed to find the energy to polish off a bucket load of chilli, chickpea & vegetable curry with garlic bread washed down with a few beers. What a really fantastic day.

We had a crazy week this week painting out the pink for a calm & grown up “sea green” – don’t worry we still have our same everyday menu for those of you who want to reclaim your lunch break  with a home made soup or stunning sarnie. but the kitchen guys are really turning out some special specials for those who want lunch at a slower pace – we also have wine if needed.

Private dining is all the rage for the spring & summer season – do you have a special occasion to plan and need a fresh idea? why don’t you drop Georgina@themanorbrighton.co,uk a note. Our upstairs parlour is a fantastic space for 10 – 14 diners or if you want you can take over the whole place for an evening booking. Check the private dining details here for more information.

We are so glad the sun is out we are really putting some baking effort in, come on in and have a taste

We are having a paint job

Time to say goodbye to the pink – we’re having a wash and brush up again and will be a different colour by the end of the week. Still The Manor with same great food, drinks and cakes. We are having to close on WEDNESDAY 17th only, so sorry to mess you about.

Come and have a nose on Thursday – we might even spare a biscuit .. !

Spring is on the way .. right?

We are tempting fate by bringing out the spring menu, but hey it is March and we have SEEN the sunshine! Don’t forget this is just a small part of what we do – Andy and Ricky will really be cooking up a storm to produce some really fantastic specials for when you have a bit more time & money. A beer or glass wine is optional but why not make it a proper treat. We have also revamped the children’s menu with the Easter Holidays almost upon us. For the mighty breakfast fans out there we have created the Manor House Breakfast a feast in anyone’s book. What else do we do? really really great coffee, smashing tea, sumptuous cakes and delicious old style puddings.

Andy is running the Brighton Marathon in April in support of Against Breast Cancer. We’ll be hoping to raise lots of money so please look out for the sponsorship details at the cafe. We are also helping spread the word about Headsmark UK, a project set up by friends of ours to enhance the awareness of symptoms of brain tumours in children and young people. You can support them by really easily, right now by downloading Song for DD. Read more details about DD and the campaign here.

Look forward to seeing you soon

oh Yes, Angie has finally got the keys to her new shop on Palmeria square in Hove - The Crumpetty Tree is hoping to be open for Easter so if you are over that way and need a sandwich or some deli treats be sure to pop.
